How much is my gold worth per gram in the UK?
Your gold's per-gram value is the live spot price of pure gold multiplied by your item's purity (its carat). For example, 18ct gold is 75% pure, so it's worth 75% of the 24ct spot price per gram. Enter your weight and carat above to see today's figure against the live London price.
How do I calculate the value of my gold?
Multiply the weight in grams by the purity fraction by the live spot price per gram: weight × purity × spot. 9ct is 0.375 pure, 14ct 0.585, 18ct 0.750, 22ct 0.916 and 24ct 0.999. Our calculator does this automatically against the live LBMA-referenced price.
What is the difference between 9ct, 18ct and 22ct gold?
The carat is the gold content. 9ct gold is 37.5% pure (hallmark 375), 18ct is 75% pure (750) and 22ct is 91.6% pure (916). Higher carat means more pure gold per gram, so it's worth proportionally more.
Do you pay the full scrap gold price?
We quote the guaranteed metal value. Weight × purity × live spot. Less a transparent 20% commission, with every figure shown. Branded or stone-set pieces are often worth more than scrap, and we value those upward from the metal floor.
